The stars aligned, and we had a wonderful first family ski trip in Chamonix, France! We picked the locale for its beauty, convenience (a 2-hour bus ride from the Geneva airport), and because a few friends had been and recommended the ski school there. After booking our flights, I learned that one of those friends bought a house there recently and she let us be the first renters at a very reasonable rate! Opa's passion is skiing, so we were happy that Oma and Opa wanted to come over to join us. Dave and Cathy relocated to Madrid in January and also wanted in on the fun, after spending a few weeks checking out all of the top ski areas in the Alps. We were thrilled to have so many people to share the week with.
We had gorgeous, spring-like weather the whole week. Day 1, we explored town a bit and went grocery shopping, stopping for a drink in the sun.

Jill and Matt's house is on the river in town with nice mountain views.

Our friends also have skis for their kids, which fit our kids, so we didn't need to rent them and were able to try them out the day before lessons started.

Some early successes and frustrations trying out the tiny hill near the bunny slopes.
Dave and Cathy arrived and we went to dinner at the BBQ restaurant below the house.
