Thursday morning, we noticed that Jude had a huge heat rash over his trunk :( He was complaining of it itching and it looked pretty bad. So any time in the sun was out. The morning also turned rainy so it was a good excuse to lay low at the apartment. Gia had looked up some reviews for lunch places in the hopes that we would find a winner and we did! We took one bite of the prosciutto crudo pizza with buffalo mozzarella and all looked at each other like, "This! This is it!" The crust, the sauce, the cheese. So delicious! Also delicious was Maeve covered in pesto sauce smiling at the waitress.

Sardinia has colonies of pink flamingos and I really hoped we'd see them, but were told they were nesting in the region where we were staying. An excuse to come back :)

In the afternoon, Paul, Andrea and Ella arrived at the resort as we all lounged pool side.
We had some amazing roof top sunset times the last few nights, with the last night in particular knocking our socks off with the sunset and a double rainbow!
Another chill day on our last day. Gia had come down with a stomach bug and stayed in to recover most of the day. We went out to lunch at a spot that had a playground for the kiddos. More yummy pizza! On the way, we checked out a nearby beach, but Jude was not interested in playing. The rash was really bothering him.

We returned to the delicious lunch spot from the day before for a final dinner with Gia, Paul and Andrea. Hard to wrap my head around not seeing any of these friends again for a long time. After the spectacular sunset and packing, Pete and I joined Paul and Andrea for a final drink in the resort lounge to say goodbye. Farewell to our friends!
