We arrived on the Friday before Christmas to Chapel Hill for the next leg of our trip. Another very happy cousin reunion and a delicious pizza dinner to greet us.
On Christmas Eve day the ladies and kids went to the Nutcracker in Raleigh. I'd remembered how good the performance was 4 years ago and was excited for the kids to see it! They were very antsy, but it was a matinee so we were in good company.
Gia and Michael were in town visiting her family so we swung by to see them after the show. A short, but sweet visit.

The kids were counting down until Christmas Eve when they'd be able to open the presents they bought for each other. Really cute.

Reading 'Twas the Night Before Christmas is a tradition of mine and I was so pleased when the kids decided that they wanted to take turns each reading a page

Another Christmas surprise- Matt and Krista gifted the kids virtual classes with cousin Malcolm to learn to put on their own musical performance! We are two lessons in now and it is going great. A really fun way for the cousins to stay connected!

We had a night out for Mexican and the Chinese Lantern Festival. It was a frigid night so we didn't linger, but were so impressed with the light display again!

Matt, Krista, and Addy headed up to Maryland to celebrate with Krista's family so we had a few final chill days at the house. Pete and I had a date night out with dinner and some brewery hopping.

We had a fancy destination for our last meal together: Shake Shack!
A really special week together!
