From Alberobello we drove to the neighboring hill town, Locorotondo for lunch at Bina Ristorante, recommended by another friend. Our first meal in Italy- yum!

We stopped in another town, Cisternino, on our way home. It was siesta time and the town was pretty dead.

Last stop: Polignano a Mare, the coastal town north of Monopoli where I wanted to catch the sunset. We made it just as the sun was dipping behind the mountains. The town is striking, up on the cliffs. We walked into town and found a cliffside spot to enjoy aperol spritzes while watching the sky do its sunset magic.

We tracked down some (subpar) gelato on our way home, completing the Italian trifecta- pasta, pizza, gelato! All in a days work!
