From the lake, we headed up to Williamstown, where Pete's high school friends had gathered for the weekend to celebrate their 40th birthdays. Their initial plans to go away for the weekend turned into time together in Williamstown, which was nicer for the wives as we all got to see each other.
And while the guys had a night out, I drove up to Killington to meet Ella for the night. We had stormy weather but pulled off a few walks/hikes and a nice dinner out. Very sadly, the night Ella returned to Montpelier, her little city experienced devasting flooding, destroying the downtown. Between the forest fires and floods, the effects of climate change felt very real on this trip.

When I got back from Vermont, Pete and I went to see Hasan Minhaj perform at the Williamstown Theater Festival. He was trying out new material and we were more impressed by the local opener.
The week was otherwise filled with a very successful lemonade stand (thanks Chris for your generosity- lemonade for life!), visits with friends, time at Jerry's pool with his granddaughter, blueberry picking at the Apple Barn, a round of golf, and clearing out our stored kitchen stuff. After renovating our kitchen, we decided we wanted to have some of the nice kitchen things we got for our wedding, which have been in storage for 9 years in Oma and Opa's basement! We got 25 boxes down to about 6- two that we brought back with us and 4 kept in storage with things we're not ready to part with yet.

Our plans to go to an outside concert at the Clark Museum were cancelled due to weather, but we had a nice meal out together instead.
