We had an early morning for our entrance to the Acropolis to beat the heat. It was incredibly awe-inspiring, even with the crowds and scaffolding. We listened to the Rick Steves audioguide as we took in the buildings and the surroundings. Jude was really into it, Maeve, not so much. Add it to the list of amazing world monuments we have dragged our kids to 😂

We cabbed back to town and explored the charming Plaka neighborhood. Our stop for ice cream helped revive the kids who were over sightseeing. I loved the colors and the cute little cat houses everywhere. We even stumbled upon a slope-side playground and hopscotch in the street.
Nana and Pops stayed in with the kids so Pete and I could go out to watch the NL eurocup game. We went to an irish put that was playing both the NL vs Austria and France vs. Poland games. There were a lot of Dutch and French fans so a lot of cheering across the bar and playful jeering. Disappointingly, the Dutch lost, but they were already secured a spot in the round of 16.
