We had an evening flight to Naxos so had the morning to do some more exploring. We split from Nana and Pops to check out the Acropolis Museum, walking there through Plaka and stopping for a bite at the cute Little Tree Books and Coffee shop.

Then it was back to the airport for our quick flight over the Naxos!
The tiny island airport. We should have landed here 6 years ago when we first visited, but that was
a whole other saga.

| The baggage "hall" |
I was so happy to be on the island for a relaxing week, but things got off to a rocky start. My parents made a booking mistake with their rental car, selecting a pick-up in the port town instead of at the airport. While we waited to be processed for our rental car, they took a taxi downtown to get their car... except the office wasn't open and they didn't have internet on their phones to communicate with us or to call the rental car company. They found free wifi and let us know what was going on. Our calls to Avis also went unanswered and when it was clear they were not getting a car that night, Pete set out to pick them up. The kids and I were in the pool area and Maeve was already swimming when Pete left and accidentally locked us all out! No towels, no way to get back in. We called our property manager and luckily they sent their mom to rescue us. We had a great first sunset while we waited, just wish I could have had a beverage to go with it!
