We packed up camp and headed off to Paris! My parents have friends from their church who split their time between Miami and their place outside of Nantes. We had been trying, unsuccessfully, to meet up all week and decided that stopping at theirs for lunch on our way to Paris made the most sense. Another hot day! We took a little walk to and through their village and returned for lunch on the terrace. Nice to interact with some other adults on this trip!

Finding accommodation in Paris during the Olympics was our biggest concern as hotels and AirBnBs had jacked up their prices accordingly. We reached out to our French friends who used to live in Paris and they put the word out to their friends that a nice, American family was looking to rent an apartment ;) Some of their friends offered their places and we happily made arrangements to stay. The apartment was located in Montreuil, so not super central, but there was free parking right outside the apartment and a convenient metro line to take us to all of our events.

| Found the local hangout- a cool square with a big playground, very popular with the neighborhood kids and neighborhood rats! |
