The Alsace is a beautiful part of the country with the Vosges mountains to the West, vineyard covered hills and a fertile valley all dotted with charming French villages. We picked one wine town to visit based on the recommendation of our B&B. As you pull up to park, you just see rooftops, and while pretty, it doesn't blow you away. Then you walk into town and you are amazed. The town is circular with cobblestone path around. I can't describe it accurately in words. Just take a look!
Both kiddos were napping as we cruised around so we enjoyed two uninterrupted wine tastings! Yummy Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Rieslings, Gewurztraminer, Muscat and Pinot Noirs. Then we had some wine-fueled giddy family time stuffing our faces with baguettes and cheese by the town fountain.

| Off for a wee "in the woods" No grapes were harmed in this endeavor! |
You could easily spend a week in this region, meandering in the wine towns, hiking in the mountains, visiting castles and chateaux, and drinking delicious wines. Another place we hope to return to!
