Two weekends ago, we made for the tulip fields before they were all headed to get our annual family pictures. It was a beautiful, cloudless, blue sky day and Maeve was pleased to wear the little dress I got her at the farmer's market in Paris the weekend before. I was pumped!
All of the fields that I had seen cycling around with Oma and Opa had large, "Please Do Not Enter The Tulip Fields" signs. So we drove further afield until we found a field still in bloom with no signs (that we could see). We had planned to meet our friends Jill and Matt there so that we could take each other's pictures. As we were capturing all of the sweetness that is kids in tulip fields, a woman passing by with her dogs told us off for being in the field. She had no connection with the farm, but told us the farmer would be angry that we were there. She cited how people go into the fields and pick the tulips (something we obviously do not do) and that people bring disease to the tulips (could this be true??). Well, I did my best to not let her dampen our day, but as soon as our friends got there, we quickly snapped our pictures and high tailed it out of there before said angry farmer could come after us with his pitch fork!
That nastiest aside, here are my favorite shots of the day (so hard to choose!).

And what morning isn't made infinitely better by a stop at the beach to watch your kids play while you sit in the sun with your friends!?
In the afternoon, we hosted a BBQ with Pete's Science Department co-workers. Such a fun day!
