Boy, train travel without children is civilized! We arrived in Paris relaxed and ready for a weekend of fun. We stayed in the Latin Quarter and walked through the Luxembourg Gardens on our way to dinner.
After dinner we walked along the Seine, crossing over onto Ile de la Cite. A lot of people partying riverside.
We have lost our ability to sleep in, but didn't mind getting an early start to see the city! Saint Chapelle blew me away when we visited in 2005 and I was so excited to go back. Just before Sicily, I took a stained glass workshop in Amsterdam and made my own stained glass (see below). So I went in with a newfound appreciation for the work that went into making that masterpiece.

We'd reserved our place online to climb the towers at Notre Dame. Loved seeing all of the gargoyles up close and the views of course!

We walked along the right bank, picking up provisions for a picnic in gardens of the Palais Royal.

Before dinner, we took a bus to La Coulee Verte, the original high line. The evening sun could not have been prettier!
We met Brad and Audra for dinner in the Marais. Parents' night out!! Then after dinner we went hunting for Invader art, to a beer bar and a jazz club. Knowing that none of us were going to have to get up at 6am was a game changer!
Rain was forecast for Sunday so we made plans to go to Musee d'Orsay. Us and everyone else. Not wanting to waste our time in Paris in line, we headed instead back to the Marais to go to the Bastille farmers market. We were going to need some good cheese and bread for our train ride home!
