Tuscan Hilltop Town: Certaldo

After my last post, you can imagine that it was hard to leave Il Grande Prato everyday. Our first day we relaxed in the morning and then set off for our first Tuscan adventure.

Tuscany is known for its hilltop towns and one, Certaldo Alto, was very close to where we were staying. We drove into town and took the funicular up to the top. Town was quiet, but we found a nice lunch spot with a view and a local pottery studio to buy some souvenirs.

We stopped in the local supermarket to stock up on food for Jude. It is fun exploring grocery stores in all of these different countries. The wine section here was pretty great! And also fun to swap hats with Nana!
