On Tuesday we took off with Sarah and the kids for the North York Moors. Sarah led us to the quaint, sleepy town of Hutton-le-Hole (great name, right?). Safe to say we saw more sheep than people, which is not a bad thing when you are 3 adults and 5 rambunctious kids! We are not used to being outnumbered so we were kept on our toes (and hats off to Sarah and all of you other outnumbered parents!). We had lunch in a simple cafe that didn't seem to mind kids bouncing off its walls. I had to go for the cream tea decadent lunch, but thankfully, had lots of helpers with my cake and scone!

After lunch we explored the little stream running through town and then found ourselves on a back country lane. It is so freeing to be able to let kids run free without fear of traffic. Perhaps we are meant to be country people?? English country people?

Then it was off to Dalby forest. The little kid high ropes course wasn't open that day, but the kids were happily entertained at the new, impressive adventure playground.

| We did a short hike. The kids kept going off the path in search of the largest stick. |
We bid Sarah and the kids adieu as they were back to reality for work/school the next day. Us fancy free kids had booked a cozy cabin near the Dalby forrest to be able to see more the area the following day. First, dinner (early bird special at 5:30pm what what!) at a town pub. We really got our fill of pub food on this trip. We are working on detoxing a bit before leaving for France on Saturday!
