Linz, Austria with the Pattendens!

We took the local bus into the city center with Brett and the kids and did a little walking tour of the city, stopping in a bakery for some fortification. We had to try to Linzer torte!

The main square

The Linzer Mariendom with beautiful stained glass and gilded alter piece.

Shortly after Blake took this photo for us, he was stung by a wasp and headed home to recuperate :(

From the main square, we boarded the tram to head up to Pöstlingberg, the hill across the river. The basilica at the top of the hill can be seen from Brett and Sandi's house.

A little entertainment for the kids before heading back into town to find....

A cute riverside beer garden!

Proost!

On another, rainy day while the moms were working, the dads took the kids to the local indoor climbing gym. Good training for one day being able to do what the dads did on our last full day, Via Ferrata!

The dads shared these photos. Not for the faint of heart! It was a hot, sunny day, so they earned their beers at the end!

One of the best features of their rental house is the backyard pool overlooking the nearby forest. So scenic! And great on the last hot days of our visit.

We enjoyed evenings on their front terrace. On our last night, we had a special treat of an amazing meteor shower. I have never seen shooting stars so huge in the sky. And so many! I wish I could have caught them on camera- they stretched across a quarter of the sky!

Thank you for a wonderful visit, Pattendens! It was great to see you and your new home!
