Strasbourg Christmas Markets

On our last day, we took the train to Strasbourg and spent the whole day checking out all of the markets in this university city. We all still had Christmas shopping to do and it was a fun and productive day!

We found an old, narcoleptic Santa at this Christmas market and got our annual photo with Santa to add to the collection!
There were so many different warm wines to try!

Treats kept the kids going.

The Notre Dame Cathedral of Strasbourg was a site to see! Beautiful stained glass and a famous 16th-century astronomical clock.

Very picturesque carousel in front of the cathedral.

These angels reminded me of the ones leading up to the Rockefeller Christmas tree in NYC.

As we made our way back to the train station, we admired all of the Christmas lights but also appreciated that we were leaving as the markets were getting pretty crowded.

The next morning, our crew hit the road for the long ride home. Oma and Opa had arrived in Amsterdam 2 days prior to help get over jetlag and we wanted to get home in time for dinner together. Meanwhile, MKA spent a final day in Colmar and then caught a flight to Amsterdam later that evening.

Matt and Krista were enamored with a Pinot Noir we had in Ribeauville so we made a pit stop in Saint-Hippolyte to pick up a last-minute Christmas gift. We made our final boulangerie stop as well. The warm baguette did not last long!
