The second day of Amelia and Max's visit was rubbish (I'm turning into a Brit). It was cold and rainy as we set out for the Sunday market at Westergasfabriek. I guess they got a true experience that way! Bad weather is the perfect excuse to enjoy some of Amsterdam's treats- coffee, fresh mint tea and Dutch Apple pie at Winkle 43. Even with the clouds and rain, Amsterdam is a beautiful city!
Amelia was psyched to visit the Cheese museum! I'm also always happy to go and eat the many free samples!
On their final day, the sun was back out. They visited the Rijks museuem special Late Rembrandt exhibit in the morning and we met in the afternoon for lunch and the Van Gogh museum. It is Meivakantie (May vacation week) so places were more crowded than usual.

We took a long walk through the city, past the floating flower market to the Oudekerk (old Church)- the oldest remaining building in Amsterdam. After a final meal together at home, they were off to continue onto Kyrgyzstan via Moscow!
