We were psyched when New York friends, Emily and Tim told us that they wanted to come visit us this Spring. Emily was a year ahead of me in grad school and we became close after Pete and I moved near them in Park Slope. We lived 5 years together in Brooklyn before both saying goodbye to the city- us to Amsterdam, and them up the Hudson. Their daughter, Alice is the first baby/child who I really felt I have watched grow up! They were the most perfect house guests. I'd come down from a rest and Emily would be elbow deep in our dishes and all of the toys would have been put away! You all are welcome back anytime :)
We picked them up in the sweet ISA van and as we were already half way to the tulip fields, decided to detour on the way home to see what was still in bloom. We were not anticipating the intense wind and subsequent sandstorm, which made our sushi rather crunchy!

We all went to the Late Rembrandt exhibit at the
Rijks museum. What a scene! Jude freaked out of over the crowds so we rushed
through to find the nearest exit!
We packed a lot of Amsterdam sights into one
day- Anne Frank museum, Royal Palace, Oude Kerk and inevitably, part of the red
light district.
After raving about the goat's milk ice cream at the
goat farm near our house, they had to check it out for themselves!

Jude loved having Alice around and would do his
best to keep up with her and sneak in a snuggle whenever he could!
