Chamonix: La Fin

On Friday, we were invited to watch the kids ski for their participation pins so we had a leisurely morning before meeting them on the slopes. The kids were together in a beginner group and placed with the other English speaking kids. I'm always grateful in these situations that they have each other. When Maeve needs support, I know we can count on Jude to be there for her. And we know that Jude also likes the company.

Maeve did a few more runs and then was happy to leave before lunch (which she never ate anyway!) and go home with her grandparents. Jude wanted to go up to the top of the mountain and Pete and I and we were so happy to have him with us!

Jude did great! My muscles, on the other hand, were spent. I was very happy to quit and find a spot in the sun with some wine while the boys did run after run together.

We went out to Rose du Pont for our last dinner together.

Saturday was our turnover day with Matt, Jill, the kids, and dog arriving in the morning after driving through the night from the Netherlands. The kids were very happy to play together while the house was turned over and cleaned. The grown-ups went into town, stopping for pastries and at the local farmer's market before sending Dave and Cathy off by train.

We had one last experience left on our Unlimited pass: A 4D Mont Blanc Movie experience. We took the kids before heading to our bus back to Geneva. A final night at an airport hotel and then back home the following day. A very successful first family ski trip! Already thinking where we could go next year...
