All Around Lake Annecy

We went all the way around the lake via buses and boats on our final day in Annecy. During the summer months, buses are free so we took advantage and first rode one bus around the east side of the lake to Taillores.

This small lake front town was having their weekly market so we got some cheese, berries, and baguettes to supplement our picnic down by the water.

This swimming area was really nice with a closed off shallow area, floating platforms, and a slide.

Some to-go wine and beer from the little restaurant hit the spot (and was needed after the drama or of trying to get Maeve to use the squat toilets (?!) in the public bathrooms).

I didn't want to leave this little piece of paradise, but we had a boat to catch!

This kid was tired! Too many late vacation nights and the inability to sleep in caught up to him. He slept on the boat ride!

There are a lot of different boat tours you can take around the lake from Annecy and there is also a hop on hop off local boat. We picked it up in Tallories, rode it around the South end of the lake (big campground here) and got off in Duingt on the west side of the lake. Duingt was directly across the lake from Talloires, but this was the only public way to get there.

We wandered around small Duingt before catching another bus home.

Back in town, we tried to find a place open for an easy pizza dinner with no such luck. French dinners begin at 7pm at the very earliest. Instead, we ordered pizza from Pizza Hut :) A lot of difficulty on the phone with our lack of French, but eventually pizza arrived.

I walked around the town at night to see it all lit up, until I got creeped out being alone. I've been watching too many crime shows lately!
