It was an hour and half drive from Lyon to our next destination, Lake Annecy in the French Alps. We couldn't check in to our AirBnB until the afternoon so we spent the morning in Lyon, enjoying a yummy bakery breakfast and then exploring the sprawling Parc de la Tête d'Or.
The park has a free botanic garden, which was beautiful.
The free public zoo was closed on Tuesdays (boo), so we rode the little train around the park instead .

Then we were off for the mountains and I was so excited!
We checked into our AirBnB in the downtown area and needing to move our car out to more long term parking, we first drove to a recommended lake front beach area, Plage de la Brune. The water was warm and the swimming/floating was great. We had dinner at the cafe there and then stayed for the sunset behind the mountains.
