A proper French breakfast to start our first full day!
It was a 2+ hour drive south to Lyon. We had plans to meet Dan, Divya, and their girls for lunch in Vieux Lyon, the medieval heart of the city.

| Lunch in the heat at Brassier Gabriel overlooking the cathedral. I enjoyed my traditional Quenelle dish (fish dumpling of sorts). |
We spent the afternoon walking through the old town, searching for secret passageways with Divya as our guide. The kids did really well considering the heat!
Lyon is a known foodie place, but many places were closed on Mondays. Divya found us a French/Spanish fusion tapas place that opened early enough to eat with the kids. It was nice reconnecting after some 12 years! The kids all got along great, which made the day enjoyable for all!
We crossed the Saône river to their apartment and then the kids and I ubered back to our blessedly air conditioned hotel while the guys stayed out for a drink.
